At EmbarkOlogy Pathways, we believe every beginning carries the power to transform—through healing, intimacy, personal development, or professional growth. Our founder, Larry Frizon Watson Jr., affectionately known as “Alonzo”, embodies that truth through a life shaped by movement, resilience, and purpose.
Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Alonzo spent much of his childhood traveling the world due to his father’s service in the U.S. Army. He lived in multiple countries, spending nine formative years in Europe—primarily Germany—where he was immersed in diverse cultures, perspectives, and ways of living. That global upbringing still shapes his worldview today: intuitive, adaptable, and deeply human-centered.
After earning his Bachelor’s degree from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Alonzo began his professional career in education—teaching high school Special Education and junior high Geography. His time in the classroom strengthened his commitment to equity, communication, and meeting people exactly where they are, no matter their starting point.
In 2009, Alonzo relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where he has now lived for over 16 years. It was here that his career evolved into corporate learning and development. For over two decades, he served as a Senior Training and Development Professional, designing, leading, and transforming learning experiences across multiple industries. His work spanned leadership development, performance coaching, talent development, and organizational culture—giving him a rare, multi-dimensional perspective on how humans grow and how organizations can truly thrive.
Today, as a therapist, founder, and principal consultant, Alonzo integrates those lived experiences into EmbarkOlogy Pathways. His mission is simple: to help people and organizations move forward with clarity, confidence, and compassion.
